MCA #2 | Thursday Morning

Silver liked to think he took most Fandom weirdness in stride. He didn't complain about being a bird for 11 days, didn't complain that part of it was due to Friday repeating several times, and didn't complain about the weird elves who fixed (re: cleaned out the little tubes for once) his coffee maker yesterday.

This, though. With the song. This was something else. He suddenly wished he had bought those weird looking headphones he saw on TV once just so he had something to drown out the Feliz Navidad song.

Though, knowing the island, the song would probably come through those too.

There was nothing to do but to add a shot of something to his coffee (thanks again, elves) and try to cope.

"And if it's just the island?" she asked.

"Then hopefully it'll only last a day?" he said. "I think I can make it that long."

Maybe.

"Yeah." She wasn't sure about herself there. "And maybe we'll adjust so we barely hear it."

"It is very loud." Oppressively loud, one might say.

"Do you think we can drown it out?" How loud did the TV go?

"We could try," Silver said. "And if people complain we can point out there's a worse noise out there."

This song was really bad.

"I would even encourage them to do the same. And then maybe we can all avoid having this song stuck in our heads later."

Nope, not gonna happen. Merry Christmas.

Silver nodded. "We can all turn the TVs on to the same channel so it'll drown out the music and it'll be a group activity."

"Why couldn't we just keep the elves?" Rey sighed. "I liked them."

[long_memory]

"They were rather helpful," Silver admitted. "But I still don't like things being in my apartment without permission."

Whether it was elves or obnoxious music.

"Did you think they were going to run off with your stuff?" Rey asked lightly.

[long_memory]

"It's more of a privacy thing," he said. "This is really the first place I've had that's mine, it's still a novelty."

"That I get." She had her own spaces she was pretty protective of. "As long as I still get to be here."

"Of course," he said with a smile. "You're always invited in here."

"I'm glad to hear that, since you're the one who started saying things like 'our beds,'" she teased.

Silver shrugged a shoulder. "Well we do sleep in them equally these days."

"We do." Barring animal transformations and holes and such. "Which I like."

"That's good," he said, taking a sip of his coffee. For the record, the liquor was not helping the song. "I'm fond of it as well."

Liquor didn't do much for your ears, no.

"If we weren't in agreement we would probably have to revisit some things," she smiled. "I really am glad you let me into your space."

"I should be saying that to you. You're the one with the bigger apartment," he joked.

"You've got the better stuff," she countered.

She'd made a bunch of it.

"That you gave me," he pointed out. "Unless you're talking about the TV?"

He knew she didn't have one of those.

"The TV is definitely going to be a plus today," she said. "But the bed here is sturdier than the one over there."

Rey's was from IKEA, so.

"It's also sparkly and purple." Even he didn't know if that was a pro or a con.

"Even better," she nodded.
