MCA #1 | Way too early Sunday morning

Silver hadn't really been worried about Rey at the pub crawl because she was not much of a drinker, and knew how to take care of herself. So he didn't feel the need to wait up for her last night. However, she had been rather social the last couple days and Silver had been missing her company, which explained why he was sleeping in her bed instead of his own.

Which was pretty sappy. Oh well, that secret belonged to him. And the squirrels. And Rey if she came home before he woke up.

Meanwhile Rey had initially tried his place first before going to her own, and finding him in her bed like that just did something to her heart.

It had also been a very busy night, and rather than taking the time to properly get ready for bed, Rey skipped all that and just stripped down to her underwear to crawl in next to him and snuggle up.

Silver shifted some, automatically making room for Rey without being conscious of it. After a few moments his brain caught up with his body and he cracked open one eye to blearily look at Rey. "You're back."

"I'm back," she said, sliding her arm around him. "I didn't mean to wake you."

"It's fine," he murmured, snuggling in close until he was nuzzling against the crook of her neck. "Have fun?"

"I did," she said, tilting her head a little to give him room. "It was insane, but fun. I missed you."

"I missed you too," he said, smiling against her neck. "What kind of insanity happened?"

"I think we made it to bar eighteen across the country before Annie got sick and I brought her back," Rey told him. "There were magic shows and an arcade, I got hugged by some girl I'd never met before..."

He laughed lightly. "Eighteen bars is impressive. Most people would have thrown up before."

"I think people were switching to water at some stops. Or they have superhuman livers," Rey guessed.

"I've known people who had eighteen drinks at breakfast," he joked. "That was nice of you to take care of Annie."

"Of course," she said. "I knew going in I'd be watching out for everyone else, I'm just stunned it took so long."

"Still nice of you," he said, pressing a kiss against her neck. "So are you doing a pub crawl for your 21st birthday?"

"Noooo," she said, smiling and sliding her hand over his side. "I don't really do anything for my birthdays."

"Did you think you could get away with that this year?" he asked.

"...Yes," she admitted. "Am I not going to?"

"You are friends with Summer, Annie and Jaskier." That was really all that needed to be said.

"Point," she conceded. "Still no pub crawl, though."

[long_memory]

"Not really your style," he agreed, nuzzling against her neck. "Something small, where nobody throws up, hopefully."

"Especially me," Rey said with the tiniest of nods. "Christmas was fun but the morning after wasn't."

Aside from getting to sleep in with him, of course, but there'd also been tiny horses and headaches.

"I seem to have accepted that this is happening, huh."

"Just trying to prepare you," he said, sounding amused. "It was going to happen whether you accepted it or not."

Rey was quiet for a moment, and said, "Before last year no one even knew when my birthday was."

The fact that multiple people could care was still new.

"It's about time that changed, don't you think?" he asked.

[thatwaslucky]

"Maybe. I don't hate it," Rey admitted, moving so that she could kiss his lips. "Thank you for caring."

"I wouldn't be a very good boyfriend if I didn't care about your birthday," he said before kissing her again.

"I don't know yours," she said, kissing him back.

Which she'd kind of categorized as one of those things he'd maybe tell her someday but she didn't count on it.
